Joined up with Kev with 2-3 months left until my test, was nowhere near ready for it and he got me to pass first time. Absolute legend would 100% recommend, sound bloke and great teacher.

Kev's a legend. After only having a week to find a new driving instructor after being let down by the one I had I found Kev Hopps at 1st Driving school. 1st Driving School is the best motoring school around, they have reliable instructors and are very down to earth and polite instructors who treat people like a good friend. My instructor was Kevin Hopps and he is a great instructor and I wasn't with him long and I passed my test thanks to Kevin.

OUTSTANDING DRIVING SCHOOL.If you can, Kevin Hopps is the instructor your want. He was a very good instructor who was always on time and reliable. He is very patient and is always willing to teach those who are willing to learn. His car was always in immaculate condition he never tried to take the mick by longing the lesson amount to pass, as soon as you felt ready he would be recommending you book a test if you haven’t already. Kev is the one! Having had bad experiences with previous instructors I went into my lessons with Kev with a lot of anxiety. After the first few minutes of the first lesson all my nerves had disappeared. Kev is a fantastic mentor and should definitely be your first choice when booking with this school! His teaching style is thorough and fair, he takes the time to explain everything in detail, both what you could do better, what you did well and where to go from there. He goes above and beyond what is expected of a driving instructor, and makes driving a fun and enjoyable experience constantly. On top of this he is always on point with his sense of humour and his taste in music is also brilliant. I will be recommending Kev to everyone I know that wants to pass their test and I strongly recommend him to whoever might be reading this review. Great guy and an even better teacher. Book your lessons with him and you won’t be disappointed.

Kevin Hopps has been the best instructor I’ve had, and I would recommend him to anyone. He is a very calm person by nature which provides a very relaxed and comfortable atmosphere in the car. He is also excellent at building your confidence up – having failed 4 driving tests prior to starting my lessons with Kev, test nerves were something I really struggled with - I had three-month worth of lessons with Kev, and I am a completely different driver. He helps you through your errors by questioning your thought process behind every action and pointing out what you are missing. I now consider myself a very safe and confident driver, and by the end of my journey with Kev, I saw him more of a mentor than an instructor.

I would highly recommend Kev to anyone considering him as a driving instructor. When choosing a driving instructor it is important to factor in that you are literally spending hours with a person in a relatively small space and in high pressure situations, Kev is exactly the person you want to be with when in this environment. He has great sense of humour, an encyclopaedic knowledge of music and a very calm, instructive demeanor. Since passing my test with him (first time), the techniques and tips that he has taught me during my lessons have set me up excellently to be a safe and knowledgeable driver.

I’ve been trying to pass for a while now and had previously failed my test twice with other instructors. However with Kevin I passed first time with him with just 3 minors! Kev is an amazing driving instructor. He’s super encouraging, and makes every lesson enjoyable. He put me at ease during me lessons, so much so they were the highlight of my week! I loved all his tips and tricks for remembering things - particularly because I was worried about how to remember everything. We also did several mock tests on the run up to my actual test which meant once I was in it, I felt surprisingly relaxed and knew what to expect. Passing my test feels amazing but I’m definitely going to miss having my lessons! I would recommend Kev to everyone. I honestly couldn’t have asked for a better instructor!

Over my time with 1st Driving School I worked with two different instructors Daniel Evans and Kevin Hopps. Both were extremely good, useful and comforting within my training and I would highly recommend the both of them.

Kev has been so patient and fantastic throughout my whole learning experience. I never felt lectured, yet I continued to learn something new every lesson and he taught me all the way up to a first-test pass. My instructor from 1st Driving School, Kev Hopps, was absolutely fantastic right from the get go. He is always patient with me and encouraging and he is sensitive about my anxieties around driving. I have bad anxiety in general but Kev has helped me to believe in myself and my abilities whilst feeling safe knowing that he is right by my side. 100% recommend Kevin Hopps from 1st Driving School!. I had previously been learning to drive with another instructor from a different driving school, but never clicked with him and he didn't seem that invested in my driving. He was happy to let me drive around without really giving me any guidance or support. After a friend recommended Kev, I got in touch. As soon as I started learning with Kev I instantly felt a difference in my driving. He helped me stamp out the bad habits I'd picked up previously and was brilliant in supporting me in the areas I struggled with.
